Unbound Edition Press today announced a 10-city fall book tour in support of its Queer authors and titles, supported nationwide by The Advocate and Out Magazine. The tour kicks off in Los Angeles on September 22, 2021 with exclusive interviews and discussions from the editors of The Advocate and Out Magazine. It concludes in New York City on November 5, 2021 at a special event hosted by the Nasty Pig brand. The tour will highlight new books by Alexander Cheves, Carlo Matos, and Sophia Anfinn Tonnessen.

My Love Is a Beast: Confessions by Alexander Cheves presents an emotionally rich coming-of-age memoir sharing the author’s journey of being a rural, Queer kid who finds his way through the fetish and kink world, and rises to national prominence as one of America’s leading sex writers. The book has been called “a rare memoir…a page turner…a must read,” (Diane Anderson-Minshall) and is predicted to “catapult to the top of Queer book offerings.” (Race Bannon)

We Prefer the Damned by Carlo Matos, the author’s 11th book, offers a collection of poems exploring bisexual identity, relationships, erasure, and denial — and how Matos’s Portuguese heritage informs his understanding of the bi/poly/pan experience. A former MMA fighter, Matos’s collection has been described as fueled by “unsparing love poems with a fierce fighter’s joy at their core.” (PaulA Neves)

Ecologia by Sophia Anfinn Tonnessen tracks the poet’s transition and is noteworthy for its experimental forms, long poems, and intentional repetitions. Her collection explores the intersections of gender, identity, and memory across time. The poems soar in songs of celebration and protest, within a form that can best be described as the trans-lyric. Bodies, texts, memories, flowers all transform throughout the work, which brings a mystery and wonder to the collection. Her work has been called “gorgeous and invigorating” and “an entirely original contribution to the mosaic of American poetry.” (Peter Campion)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, attendance may be limited at some venues, per local ordinances. Events are subject to being modified as needed into virtual, digital readings and discussions to help protect human health. We believe in science, community responsibility, and following the advice of experts. Therefore, masks and proof of vaccination are required at all in-person events, without exception. Events are free but ticketed to ensure compliance with local attendance limits.
