The ever stressful question: what to do for dinner tonight? It should be such a fun decision, but it’s
often the cause of undue anxiety.
When I’m hungry and have to wait even longer to eat because I
can’t think of or agree on a restaurant, Crabby Gina comes out in full
force. So, to avoid any difficult situations,
I finally learned to prepare ahead of time by making a list of restaurants
I want to try.
Why is my crabbiness and stomach growling worth sharing with
you? Well, sites like Restaurant.com and Open Table are bringing restaurants into the digital age and making it much easier to
solve the “where to go out to eat” problem.
These sites are forcing restaurant owners to start seeing the importance
of going digital.
With Open Table you can go online at any time and see all of
the available reservation times. But I'm
particularly partial to Restaurant.com.
Not only can I get $25 gift certificates to the participating
restaurants for $5, but I also get to see a picture of the restaurant, read a
detailed description, check out its menu and even make a reservation. This is such an incredible site.
There are often restaurants I will notice around my
neighborhood that I am a little skeptical to just go and try. However, if I see them listed on Restaurant.com,
I can try them out on the cheap. Even the restaurant comes
out a winner in this deal; they now can gain more information about their
customers. After each gift certificate
is used, Restaurant.com emails you a survey for feedback on the whole dining
experience.
Like airlines and hotels, dining reservations are now going digital.
Customers crave the ease of being able to compare restaurants, find out what
other diners have to say and see if they even have a chance of getting a
reservation. And what's more to me, this digitalization keeps Crabby Gina at bay.
