Attention Deficit Theatre Ready to Lift Curtain for “Mad Men,” Season Two PDF E-mail

After what seems like the longest hiatus in history, the Unbound Edition Players are, at last, ready to return to the stage for the second season of "Mad Men" recaps. The only potential hitch is that the players just moved to Atlanta, where the wardrobe department doesn’t seem to offer anything but hoop skirts and parasols. (That “woo-hoo!” you just heard was Salvatore.)

According to articles like this nifty one from Entertainment Weekly, the new season “jumps forward in time a bit.” So we’ll definitely find out what happened to Peggy and the “surprise” baby. Lord knows it’s doubtful because it just wasn’t done back then, but I’m really hoping she kept him. Come on, how adorable would it be to have a wee Pete Campbell clone, running around with a hunting fetish, hoping to grow up and be completely emasculated by his wife and coworkers?

And Roger Sterling seems to have bounced back just fine from that heart attack. Let the Horndog Olympics begin!

The new season starts on AMC this Sunday, July 27. We’ll present our performance of the episode shortly thereafter. In the meantime, do you have any predictions for plot developments this season?

Let me be the first....

...to welcome back the Mad Men edition of "Attention Deficit Theatre." I look forward to Kristin's unparalleled wit almost as much as Mad Men itself. Let the games begin!
Madness!

I've been counting the days for the season premiere. I predict Betty will wise up about Don's secret past and frequent affairs. She'll wait until Glenn's legal, and then they'll run away together and spend their lives cutting each other's hair and shooting birds.

Methinks Salvatore will actually get married, just so we have the drama of a secret life and a ruined marriage to look forward to. Hey, it works for Tom Cruise.

Your analysis and comments last season were brillant. You've set as high a bar for yourself this season as "Mad Men" did for itself.
Doodly doo.

Nice thinking there, Stu. Poor Lois will marry Salvatore and then wonder why she's transferring so many calls to him from friends wanting advice on window treatments.

Oh brother, my brother...

I have moved into my brother's house and I am having a serious fling with Betty, aka "Ghost and Mrs. Draper". Betty is so fine and yet, there's my brother, hiding on the train and being a "partner" with everyone but the missus. I have fixed the washer so it does not shimmy and shake, no man--even a ghost--likes that kind of competition.
Hey Doc -- nobody's job was "high-powered" till the 1980s

I just watched the opener and I predict that Betty will assume a high-powered position in the automotive aftermarket industry.... and I'm pleased they introduced a new character, The Very Big Xerox Copier, for Kristin to further develop! I look forward to Mad Unboundedness!

See? It's been so long, I've forgotten my own name.
I've got your fan belt right here

Betty, on a desserted road, a smoking car...my brother, drinking enough to scare the baby sitter into walking 5 miles to the bus stop because she likes the fresh February air. If Don had read his homework sooner she could have mailed the mystery package in the first mile, but no, he had to get all dark and dramatic in that office where he keeps his money in the desk.
They should have called it "The One with the new Xerox machine"

I love that they brought the Xerox into the show. I work for Xerox so it's fun for me, and I can imagine a very big deal back then. Man, Betty's reall turned into a nut job, righ? OK, Kristen I'm chomping at the bit waiting for your madcap recap.
It's coming!

I'm working on it now. I had some issues with Tivo, but now we're back in bidness. Thanks for your patience, all.
