BMW Has Balls PDF E-mail

I just saw this on coolhunting.com. A kinetic sculpture at the newly renovated BMW Museum in Munich, made up of 714 balls on individual strings that morph into all different configurations on their way to briefly resting into the shapes of vintage, present and future BMW models. All the while, in the background are the words “Innovation … Technology … Design…” while a narrative plays about a constantly changing world, changing lifestyles and paying attention to the future.

New media company Art+Com designed this cool visual interpretation of brand and design elasticity. It shows us how mesmerizing change can be and how ever-moving it should be. It illustrates the waves of thought and disorganization that occur on the way to shaping something beautiful. It shows us that each and every piece matters … to remove any of it, even a tiny, seemingly insignificant piece … would result in producing something incomplete, lacking.

It’s a convincing way to show the BMW brand as one that has been able to remain true to itself while constantly evolving. No matter how much it is stretched and pulled, the brand remains intact, presenting itself in new shapes and ways of being.

Have you seen what BMW just did in Moscow? It built the world's largest hourglass, filled it with balls, and as the time "ran out" and the balls, um, dropped, the newest BMW model was revealed. http://www.never-stand-still.com/index.aspx
just curious ...
