Remember the 90s. The advent of the Internet.
And there was that one company that everyone was talking about: Yahoo!
Yahoo! was the Internet for most people in the 90s. It was where nearly everyone got started when they went online. (It still is the number one site on the Web.) Yahoo! led people to their site with TV commercials, which I always thought were pretty good. The commercials were generally short and to the point…and relatively funny. The point always was that you come to Yahoo! for information, content and some fun. And they always ended with the yodeling Yahoooooo!
(They still produce some good ones too.)
Anyway, it looks like Yahoo! is hearkening back to those days and Yahooing all over again. A colleague pointed this out to me.
Try this:
1. Go to Yahoo!
2. Click on the exclamation point.
So, I guess they are screaming at us again. But maybe that’s a good thing, as they try to bring back some of that initial spirit that got Yahoo! started with such a bang. Personally, I like it. I missed the yodel. What do you think?
