How do you take a simple site that sells wine and turn it into a sales machine that people not only go to to buy wine, but also to meet others, converse, learn and most importantly, visit every day? You utilize the power of Web 2.0 and tranparency.
On February 21, 2006, Wine Library TV was launched and it was the beginning of a conversation between Gary and his customers. Gary gives honest recommendations and analysis, sometimes badmouthing a wine that he has on sale. It's this tranparency and honesty that has given Gary so much credibility, and now, WLTV has evolved into a conversation involving everyone, with forums and blogs. There's a reason to visit every day, even if you're not buying wine. Talk about a niche community formed around a brand.
